My Representation: Male For the representation of my stereotypical male indie rock fan I wanted to reflect what I'd previously discovered through my target audience research. I did this firstly by showcasing his carefree nature with the long and unkempt hair, although this may still be considered current and on-trend. From my target audience research I discovered that the stereotypical outfit for an 'indie' male is breton stripes and black skinny jeans, which I decided to show in my representation to best reflect their style. As well as this, I also wanted to include one garish piece of clothing that reflected the styles of indie rock artists that I first discovered in my genre research. Location Recce After doing my storyboard and shot list, I had a rough idea of what I wanted my music video to look like. However, in order to help me be more specific with my ideas I visited some locations I thought would be suitable. 1. The Field  In my storyboard/shot list I had envisioned a corn field for the scenes where the girl meets the boy in the rabbit mask. These scenes underpin the whole narrative of the music video as the pivotal moments happen here which makes the location even more important. Luckily, I was able to find a field that was exactly what I was looking for.  As it is very overgrown, it creates a very enclosed space which helps for both the shots where Phoebe is running away and feels trapped and the intimate shots with the boy in the rabbit mask.   2. Hip-Hop Print Advert  This is my practice poster, which I have created in order to advertise a new Hip-Hop album.The advert features 'Jean Ralphio' and 'Tommy Fresh' as from my research of the hip-hop genre, many posters feature the artists as fans like to feel as though they connect with the artist. Their clothing, stance, and the fact they're looking away from the camera implies a careless attitude which a lot of hip-hop fans would aspire to be like. However, they aren't the central selling point as I ensured the text was larger and brighter than them as the name of the album needs to grab people's attention as they walk past the poster on the street or see it as they flip through a magazine. The yellow contrasts the brick wall and their dark clothing as well as connoting to money and riches, which makes it perfect to get that attention. Peer Feedback  In order to gain a wide range of opinions and first impressions of my chosen song, I played it for my peers. It was interesting to see how some ideas complimented my own and some completely contrasted, but overall it has helped me build a bigger and clearer picture of what my music video will look like. Through my feedback, my peers have suggested my music video should primarily be performance and narrative, although some have suggested conceptual elements may be effective. To include all three would be challenging, but the pace and lyrics of the song allow me to be more adventurous with the visuals. It is clear through the responses to the song that my peers think the central role of the music video should be on a young/teen girl which would fit well with the target audience of my chosen genre.
