Location Recce

After doing my storyboard and shot list, I had a rough idea of what I wanted my music video to look like. However, in order to help me be more specific with my ideas I visited some locations I thought would be suitable.

1. The Field 

In my storyboard/shot list I had envisioned a corn field for the scenes where the girl meets the boy in the rabbit mask. These scenes underpin the whole narrative of the music video as the pivotal moments happen here which makes the location even more important. Luckily, I was able to find a field that was exactly what I was looking for. 

As it is very overgrown, it creates a very enclosed space which helps for both the shots where Phoebe is running away and feels trapped and the intimate shots with the boy in the rabbit mask. 

 2. The Beach 

I wanted to use the beach as a location to reflect the true nature of the masked people who are really just carefree and adventurous teens, something the girl will adopt in the video. As I will be filming this in autumn/winter, you wouldn't commonly see people sunbathing/chilling out at the beach, which is why it will be a perfect location to add a comical and wild element to the music video. I made sure I chose a beach that is very quiet so it will be easier to film there.

This is most likely where I will film Phoebe (main girl character) jogging and first noticing the Monkey and Tiger on the beach. 

I am not certain where the Monkey and Tiger will initially be, either right by the water or on the rocks pictured in the background of this photo. During the music video, Phoebe will run into the water with the masked animals. 

I want to include some shots throughout my video of just the masked people in stationary positions and I think this location is perfect for it as there is a lot of symmetry and it's very isolated. It is also another possible location for the masked people to be when Phoebe first sees them. 

3. The Shed 

This is the location I have chosen for the party scenes. I have chosen my shed as there is enough room for all the equipment I need and for decorations, but it will still work well as an intimidate environment. The fact it's in my back garden means that I can easily access it.

This image is very similar to a shot I want to create in my music video - Phoebe getting invited into the party.

This is the inside of the shed where the party will take place. I will use white sheets, LED disco lights and smoke bombs in order to create a psychedelic party atmosphere. 

4. The Street 

I chose this location as there is a bridge, walls and fences all very close to each other so it gives me more options when filming the street scenes. This location is very near my school so it's easily accessible and I am very familiar with the area.
