Ideas Drafting - Inspiration from Peers
Peer Feedback
In order to gain a wide range of opinions and first impressions of my chosen song, I played it for my peers. It was interesting to see how some ideas complimented my own and some completely contrasted, but overall it has helped me build a bigger and clearer picture of what my music video will look like.
Through my feedback, my peers have suggested my music video should primarily be performance and narrative, although some have suggested conceptual elements may be effective. To include all three would be challenging, but the pace and lyrics of the song allow me to be more adventurous with the visuals.
It is clear through the responses to the song that my peers think the central role of the music video should be on a young/teen girl which would fit well with the target audience of my chosen genre. I also like the idea many of my peers had - a coming of age type narrative where it follows a personal growth. I like the idea Peer 7 had of the mood shifting from sad to happy and more confident throughout and I think it compliments Peer 2's idea of a girl being powerful, strong and perhaps rebelling.
I have found this feedback beneficial in shaping a clear idea for my music video and I know this will be a good resource to refer back to through the creative/planning process.
